Off to a winning start !!!

The Men's NVL team got off to a winning start today when they took on Arun at the Friends Life Sports Centre.
Fortunate to play their first match of the season at their new home venue the side looked like they would take some time to settle in to their new surroundings as Aun took the first set 19-25.
However, Guildford narrowly managed to take the 2nd set after coming from behind right at the end of the set to take it 25-23 despite making 10 service errors. The same pattern was more or less repeated in the 3rd but this time it was Arun's late charge which was halted by Guildford and again the home team ran out winners by a narrow margin (26-24).
The 4th set was a much more comfortable affair and Guildford raced into an early lead and managed to dominate consistently to take the set 25-15.
No less than 5 players made their debuts with the team in what turned into being a promising team display.
The teams next fixtures are on the 2nd November.
