Guildford Off To A Winning Start ...

Our Men's NVL team got the 22/23 season last weekend.
The side took on the UK Army's representative team in the 1st round of the Volleyball England KO Cup at the Royal Holloway University in Egham. The side started strongly racing to a 12-1 lead in the first set and managed to the take the set confidently.
However they were unable to carry their form through to the 2nd set and were dominated by the visitors.
The 3rd set was a more tense affair which saw Guildford edge the set 28-26 but we're unable to close out the match when they allowed the visitors to take the match into a deciding 5th set when they won the 4th 16-25.
The 5th set was equally as tight but Guildford managed to take a 14-11 lead but allowed the Army to rally but they were unable to stop Guilford taking the set and the match 15-13.

Guildford will now travel to London in the next round to take on London Bears. This fixture will take place on Saturday 8th October.
